Hon. Chris Nonyelu

Honorable Chris Nonyelu serves as Secretary General of the Umunya Professionals Association, coordinating the organisation's activities, correspondence, and implementation of the executive board's decisions. Hon. Nonyelu is a respected legal mind and community advocate whose career has spanned law, governance, and public service. As Secretary General, he serves as the administrative backbone of the association — managing communications between members, coordinating meetings and summits, maintaining records of resolutions, and ensuring that the board's strategic decisions are translated into actionable programmes. His legal background has been invaluable in structuring the association's governance framework, drafting its founding documents, and navigating the complex administrative landscape of running a professional association with members across multiple continents. He is known for his meticulous attention to detail and his commitment to transparency and accountability within the organisation. Beyond his secretarial duties, Hon. Nonyelu has championed the association's legal advocacy work, particularly around land rights, infrastructure development, and governance issues affecting Umunya and the broader Oyi Local Government Area.
