UPA Annual Awards Night: Celebrating Excellence from Umunya The Umunya Professionals Association held its Annual Awards Night in a glittering ceremony that brought together UPA members, community leaders, guests of honour, and well-wishers for an evening of celebration, inspiration, and community pride. The event, held at a prestigious venue in Awka, was a testament to the extraordinary depth of talent and achievement that Umunya has produced across generations. The Awards This year's awards recognised excellence across twelve categories, celebrating individuals who have distinguished themselves professionally, contributed significantly to Umunya's development, or demonstrated exceptional leadership. The Distinguished Professional of the Year award went to a medical specialist whose career has spanned three continents. The Community Development Champion award recognised a civil engineer whose voluntary work directly contributed to community infrastructure. The Young Professional of the Year celebrated a 28-year-old software engineer whose technology venture has created employment for dozens of young people in Anambra State. The Chairman's Address "Tonight, we celebrate not just individual achievements, but the collective spirit of Umunya — a community that has always produced greatness and that, through this association, is now more intentional than ever about channelling that greatness toward the upliftment of our homeland," said UPA Chairman Prof. Ejiofor Okechukwu.
