UPA Delegation Meets State Government on Umunya Road Rehabilitation A high-powered delegation from the Umunya Professionals Association met with senior officials of the Anambra State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to present a comprehensive advocacy document calling for the urgent rehabilitation of key road arteries serving Umunya. The Roads in Question The delegation presented its case around five specific road segments identified through UPA's Community Infrastructure Audit as critically in need of rehabilitation — linking Umunya to Awkuzu, Nteje, and the Onitsha-Owerri expressway. The advocacy document included photographic evidence of road conditions, engineering assessments, economic impact analyses, and a prioritised list of interventions with estimated costs and timelines. The Government's Response Ministry officials acknowledged the quality of UPA's presentation and committed to having technical teams conduct a formal assessment of the identified roads. The Director of Roads confirmed that several of the roads are already on the state's infrastructure programme and that UPA's documentation would be forwarded to accelerate their inclusion in the next phase of works. UPA Director of Infrastructure Engr. Chukwuemeka Obiora, who led the presentation, said: "We came not to complain, but to provide solutions. We brought data, evidence, engineering expertise, and a clear set of asks. That is how you get results from government."
