Prof. Ejiofor A. Okechukwu

Prof. Ejiofor A. Okechukwu serves as Chairman of the Umunya Professionals Association, providing overall leadership and strategic direction for the organisation's mission to advance Umunya's development locally and globally. A distinguished academic and community leader, Prof. Okechukwu brings decades of experience in higher education administration, research, and community development to his role. His vision for UPA centres on three pillars: connecting Umunya professionals across the globe, channelling diaspora expertise and resources toward tangible community projects, and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Umunya for future generations. Under his leadership, UPA has convened the Umunya Summit of Tomorrow, established partnerships with regional and international stakeholders, and launched a series of community development initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Prof. Okechukwu believes that every son and daughter of Umunya, wherever they may be in the world, carries a responsibility to contribute to the advancement of the community that shaped them. He holds multiple academic qualifications and has published extensively in his field. He is widely respected as a bridge-builder between the Umunya homeland and the diaspora community.
