UPA Scholarship & Education Fund Education is the most powerful investment any community can make in its future. The UPA Scholarship and Education Fund exists to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent a bright young person from Umunya from fulfilling their academic potential. What the Fund Provides Financial awards to deserving students at secondary school and tertiary levels, covering tuition fees, examination fees, textbooks and stationery, and in some cases boarding costs. Selection is based on academic merit and financial need, with special consideration for students from families who have experienced hardship, and for female students in underrepresented fields. The Saint Theresa's High School Legacy The association's commitment to education in Umunya was given visible expression through the dedication of the main block complex of Saint Theresa's High School Umunya — a magnificent donation by Chief John Agulue, a US-based indigene of Umunya, in the presence of His Eminence Francis Cardinal Arinze and Governor Soludo of Anambra State. Mentorship and Career Guidance The scholarship programme goes beyond financial support. UPA mentors each recipient through a structured programme connecting them with professionals in their field of study, providing career guidance and building the soft skills essential for career success. How to Contribute The fund is sustained by voluntary contributions from UPA members and well-wishers. Donors can make one-time contributions or pledge ongoing support for a named scholarship. UPA maintains full financial transparency and publishes an annual report detailing fund receipts and disbursements.
